Solan district is one of the twelve districts of Himachal Pradesh state in northern India.It is known as the “Mushroom city of India” because of the mushroom centre situated at Chambaghat.Solan is sorrounded by high hills. The eastern side of the town is covered by Matiul peak which is approximately 1,986 metres (6,516 ft) high. The 2,000 metres (6,562 ft) high Karol peak is located on the Northern side of the town.Solan has emerged to be a lovely place. There are many small villages built by British which has a special area like quarters for the troop, on the outskirts of the village.This place can be best viewed and experienced in the month from April to June and September to November.
